Change of Mass Times due to  Holidays – There will be no Mass in Portrane at 9.30 on the following Sundays 28 July, 4, 11, 18 & 25 August and Sunday 1 September instead the 9.30 Mass will be celebrated in Balheary.

Prayer Service – Please note that due to holidays there will be no 10am Mass on  Saturday mornings for 5 weeks, instead there will be a Prayer Service on the dates as follows:  Saturday 3, 10, 17, 24 & 31   August.  

The St. Vincent De Paul will hold a church gate collection this weekend 27/28 July.      Your support will be very much appreciated.

Thank you to all who helped with Cemetery Sunday last weekend.  Your help and support is very much appreciated.

Maranatha – Our August Maranatha events takes place on Friday next, 2nd August, from 7:30pm to 8:30pm in St. Patrick’s Church and will also be broadcast on our parish webcam  ( https://churchmedia.tv/camera/st-patricks-church-donabate ). As always, we remember in a special way all our young people at Maranatha as well as bringing our own intentions. If there is anyone you would like remembered at Maranatha this month, please email the names to myam.admin@gmail.com by next Wednesday if possible.

5 FIRST SATURDAY DEVOTION will continue in our church on Saturday August 3rd starting @ 9.30am with The Rosary.   This devotion was requested by Our Lady of Fatima. Our Lady promised that observance of the 5 First Saturdays would hasten Peace in the World. It consists of the following:

  1. Praying the Rosary
  2. Receiving Holy Communion
  3. Confession
  4. 15 minutes Meditation on The Rosary.

Please join us as we pray for Peace in our world.

August Family Mass  – Sat 3rd August – Our next Family Mass will take place at the 6.30pm Mass on Saturday, 3rd August, in Donabate Church. We would be delighted if families can participate on the 3rd. Please spread the word!  Any families wishing to participate in the Family Mass next Saturday can register their interest by emailing donabateparishcm@gmail.com

Pathways – this September sees the beginning of the next running of the 2-year Pathways course, hosted by Dublin Diocese, for those who wish to explore faith, ministry and the Church today. It runs from late September to late May each year on Thursday evenings from 7.00pm – 9.30 pm in DCU St. Patrick’s Campus, Drumcondra, starting Thursday 26th September 2024. Cost: €400 per year (*sponsorship may be possible).  Early application is advisable as places will be limited. For more details see: https://www.missionministry.ie/pathways/

Youth 2000 Summer Festival 2024 – The festival takes place this year in Clongowes Wood College, Clane, Co Kildare from Thursday 15th August to Sunday 18th August 2024. Open to those aged 16-35. Final Mass on the Sunday is open to everyone. Including Excellent Speakers, Inspiring Talks & Workshops, Fantastic music, Group activities, Youth Masses, Adoration, Reconciliation, prayer, Drama, Games & plenty of time to chill out, meet new people and find out what it means to be young & Catholic today!! *Note: this event is run by the organisation Youth2000 – it is not a parish or Diocesan event, therefore the parish has not undertaken any assessment of safeguarding arrangements in terms of under 18’s attending the retreat.

 

Upcoming course from Dublin Diocese – Dublin Diocese have the   following upcoming course for those interested in accompanying others on their journey of faith – The Diocesan Certificate in Catechesis Run over 7 Saturdays from Sept 2024 to March 2025, 10am to 4pm. Donabate Meals on Wheels – NEW DRIVERS REQUIRED                                        If you would have an hour or two to spare once a fortnight to help deliver meals in the Donabate area please contact Deborah 086 8276555.

 

Donabate Memory Café held the last Wednesday of each Month in the Donabate Community Centre, 11am – 1pm.  The Memory Café includes information talks, music, games and refreshments.                                    Memory Café will be held this coming Wednesday 26 June, 11am to 1pm.    All welcome.

 

Call for more Eucharistic Adorers – Fridays   We are blessed in this parish to have Eucharistic Adoration in Donabate Church each Friday, currently from 12noon to 4:30pm. This is such a special opportunity to come and spend some quiet time with the Lord. As our team of regular adorers is small, we would love if more people could commit to spending some time each Friday with the Lord. If you can commit to 30 minutes or more each Friday between 12noon and 4:30pm please contact the parish office.

 

Monthly Family Mass  – invitation to get involved – Little reminder that our monthly Family Masses take place on each First Saturday of the month.

We welcome parents who are interesting in volunteering.
