Parish Newsletter 29 June 2025

Due to holidays, there will be no 10am Mass on Saturday 28th June, instead a Prayer Service will be held and any Mass intentions already booked for the 10am Mass will be remembered at the Prayer Service and will also be included at the 6.30pm Saturday evening Mass and the 11am Sunday Mass.  Mass will be celebrated as normal in Portrane at 9.30am, Donabate at 11am and Balheary at 9.30am on Sunday 29th June.

 

Hospitality Dates for the diary: Tea and coffee after mass will run throughout the summer every 2 weeks in the Parish hall. Everyone is welcome! We will have lots of homemade baking to enjoy and would love to see you there.   Hospitality will run on the following dates: 29th of June, 13th and 27th of July.

 

Peters Pence  The annual Peters Pence collection will be taken up this weekend the 28/29th June.    It will replace the Share collection.  Your support will be very much appreciated.

 

Dublin Diocese Lourdes Associate Membership  Thank you to all who supported the Associate Membership last weekend.

 

Maranatha  Our July Maranatha reflection event takes place on Friday next, 4th July, from 7:30pm to 8:30pm in St. Patrick’s Church and will also be broadcast on our parish webcam (https://churchmedia.tv/camera/st-patricks-church-donabate).       As always, we remember in a special way all our young people at Maranatha as well as bringing our own intentions. If there is anyone you would like remembered at Maranatha this month, please email the names to myam.admin@gmail.com by next Wednesday if possible.

Donabate Teen Youth Group     Our teen youth group is starting the Alpha course this May at our online youth group sessions on Friday evenings from 8-9pm via Zoom.  If there are any teens who’d like to join us, you’d be more than welcome. A parent/guardian can register their interest by emailing: donabateparishcm@gmail.com

 

Weekly Comtemplative Prayer Groups

Come and join our weekly contemplative prayer groups in the library room of Donabate Parish Hall (little room to right hand side of main door).

Tuesday evenings 7-8pm(must be 18+)

Friday mornings 7-7.25am(must be 18+, or be accompanied by a parent/guardian).

Join us for a for a Fun Afternoon of Free Activities- Try Tennis, Coaching Clinics, Adult Tennis, Kids Tennis, Fun Games, Face Painting.

Mass with Anointing of the Sick on Sunday 13th July at 5.00pm at St. Cronan’s Church, Brackenstown, Swords.  Any parishioner who is housebound and needs a lift contact St. Cronan’s parish office.    Refreshments will be served afterwards in the Parish Centre.

 

Pure in Heart Ireland will be hosting a Church gate collection on the weekend of 12th/13th July.  Pure in Heart Ireland is a charity led by young adults that is 100% reliant on donations to continue its mission of sharing the truth and meaning of human sexuality, identity and authentic love to young people across Ireland.  Your support will be very much appreciated.

 

Swap Shop & Repair Cafe will be held at the Donabate Portrane Community Centre 11am – 1pm on Saturday 19th July.  For more information  see poster on church notice board.

 

Missionaries of the Sacred Heart   This September join the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart as we walk the Camino Frances.  We will end this special fundraising pilgrimage with two days in Fatima.  Spiritual Direction Fr. Get to know Carlo – a Saint in his teens Donabate youth group invite young people aged 13-18 to join them online on Friday evenings as we start to learn about Carlo Acutis, the teenager due to be canonised as a Saint this year. We meet via Zoom from 8pm-9pm most Fridays (other than First Fridays when we have Maranatha). For any young person interested in joining us, a  parent/guardian can register their interest by emailing donabateparishcm@gmail.com

 

Prayers for the Holy Souls in Purgatory every Friday after the 10am Mass. All welcome.

 

Tap & Donate – Thank you to all who use the Tap & Donate contributing to the First & Share collections.
The amount collected for March and April 2025 was €635.

 

The Family Offering for May 2025 amounted to €3853. Thank you all for your support.

 

Donabate Memory Café at the Donabate Portrane Community Centre on the last Wednesday of Each Month 11am to 1pm.
