Light a Candle   To mark the eve of the Feast of Pentecost, we will have a Light a Candle event this evening from 7:30pm to approx. 9:30pm in St. Patrick’s Church, Donabate. The invitation is to simply come in at any time that evening to light a candle and stay for as much or as little as you like. There will be Eucharistic Adoration and reflective music throughout as we pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit on our families, our community, our Diocese and our world.

 

The nine day Novena to the Holy Spirit will finish on Monday 20th May.

 

First Holy Communion – St. Patrick’s Boys School will celebrate their First Holy       Communion next Saturday 25 May at 11am in Donabate Church.  The parish   welcome the children to the table of the Lord.

 

Powerpoint & Prayers of the Faithful   Volunteers –  We are calling again for    anyone who has PowerPoint skills and an interest in the Liturgy.  We would welcome help at the Weekend Masses. If interested, contact the Parish Office.    The Prayers of the Faithful reflect the needs of the parish, the Church, and the wider world in response to the   Scripture Readings. If you would like to help the parish team compile these prayers for the Sunday Liturgy, contact the Parish Office. Resources and help are  available.

 

Film Crew – This coming Tuesday 21st May the Film Crew will be back to do more     filming on the Church grounds and at St. Patrick’s Terrace and will be parking in the Church car park from 7pm Tuesday evening until 1am Wednesday 22nd May.  Filming will be taking place on Wednesday throughout the day until approximately 1am.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

 

Church Gate Collection – The St. Vincent de Paul will hold a church gate collection next weekend 25/26th May.  Your support will be very much appreciated.

 

Exam Prayer Space – Our Exam Prayer Space is located on our youth notice board at the back of Donabate Church where we invite you to write your name, or the name of anyone you know who is studying/taking exams at this time. We also encourage parishioners to pray for our students at this time.

 

Donabate Portrane Dramatic Society proudly presents “Dancing at Lughnasa” by Brian Friel at the Parish Hall Thursday 16th-Saturday 18th May @ 8pm and matinee @ 3pm on Sunday 19th tickets €12 at door, TicketSource.eu, or Ph 086 0712530

Swords, River Valley, Donabate & Brackenstown Partnership Lourdes             Pilgrimage.                                                     The partnership is organising a pilgrimage to Lourdes on Sunday 15th – Thursday 19th September accompanied by Spiritual Director Fr. Donabate Meals on Wheels – NEW DRIVERS REQUIRED                                        If you would have an hour or two to spare once a fortnight to help deliver meals in the Donabate area please contact Deborah 086 8276555.

 

Donabate Memory Café held the last Wednesday of each Month in the Donabate Community Centre, 11am – 1pm.  The Memory Café includes information talks, music, games and refreshments. 

 

Call for more Eucharistic Adorers – Fridays   We are blessed in this parish to have Eucharistic Adoration in Donabate Church each Friday, currently from 12noon to 4:30pm. This is such a special opportunity to come and spend some quiet time with the Lord. As our team of regular adorers is small, we would love if more people could commit to spending some time each Friday with the Lord. If you can commit to 30 minutes or more each Friday between 12noon and 4:30pm please contact the parish office.

 

Monthly Family Mass  – invitation to get involved – Little reminder that our monthly Family Masses take place on each First Saturday of the month.

We welcome parents who are interesting in volunteering.

We invite any family wishing to participate in the family masses to register their interest by emailing                                                       donabateparishcm@gmail.com                              A WhatsApp group has been setup to assist communication.  Please include a phone number in your email if you wish to be added to the group.
