Stations of the Cross led by Children – 12 noon Good Friday – as in prior years we are due to have the Stations of the Cross led by Children on Good Friday (18th April) at 12 noon in St Patrick’s Church. If there are any children who would like volunteer to read a short passage or to draw or design one of the Stations, we ask parents/guardians to contact the parish children’s ministry email address: donabateparishcm@gmail.com before Monday 14th April.
Our hospitality team would like to invite you to our April tea and coffee after the 11am this Easter Sunday. Everyone is welcome across in the parish hall. We will have lots of Easter baking, special Easter treats for kids and of course tea and coffee for everyone. We hope to see you there!
Congratulations to our new members We congratulate & welcome David, Stefany and Janka on joining our parish family through their Baptism on Holy Saturday, and Talita on completing her initiation into the Catholic family through receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation also on Holy Saturday. We ask you to continue to keep them in your prayers as they continue on their journey of faith.
Divine Mercy Novena – The Divine Mercy Novena runs from Good Friday to Divine Mercy Sunday (2nd Sunday of Easter). We are encouraged to pray the Divine Mercy chaplet each day of the Novena.
Divine Mercy Sunday 27 April, will be celebrated in Donabate Church commencing with Confessions at 2.30pm followed by the Divine Mercy Prayer and Mass will be celebrated at 3pm. Divine Mercy Devotion at 3pm in St Cronan’s Church, Brackenstown, Swords followed by Mass at 5pm.
Dublin Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock 2025 – Save the date! The Dublin Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock takes place on Saturday 26th April. Brackenstown Parish have arranged a partnership bus with 58 places available. If anyone would like to go on the bus please contact Louise in Brackenstown Parish office to book a place. The cost of the bus is €30 per person. Clergy, altar servers or u16s go free. If there is any surplus this will be used to tip the bus driver. Bus leaving Donabate Church at 7.30am, Brackenstown at 7.50am, Swords at 8.00am and Rivervalley at 8.10am. Please bring a packed lunch, tea and coffee available at St. John’s Centre, Knock. The bus will stop for 15 minutes on the way down and back at Ballinalack Service Station.

Carlo becoming a Saint! – on Sunday next, 27th April (Divine Mercy Sunday) the young teenager Carlo Acutis will be canonised a Saint. This is a hugely important celebration for our worldwide church and especially for our young people as Carlo represents such a powerful role model and intercessor. The ceremony for the Canonisation will take place as part of the Mass for the Jubilee of Teenagers which commences at 10:30am Rome time (9:30am Irish time) and should be streamed live at https://www.comunicazione.va/en/servizi/live.html
Weekly Contemplate Prayer groups – Come and join our weekly contemplative prayer groups in the library room of Donabate parish hall (little room to right hand side of main door of parish hall):
Tuesday evenings: 7pm-8pm (must be 18+)
Friday mornings: 7am-7:25am (must be 18+, or else be accompanied by a parent/guardian)
Young Adult Bible Study We would like to invite new members to join our Young Adult Faith Fellowship. This is a faith formation group and is an opportunity to connect with other local young adults in a community of faith. We hope to grow in our faith together through bible studies, spiritual events, prayer, socialising and reflecting together. The group meets every Wednesday evening and is open to anyone aged 18-30.
