On behalf of the Priests of the Parish and the Financial Committee, we would like to explain the distribution of the various Church Collections.
The first basket collection goes into a Common Fund in the Dublin Diocese and is for the salaries of the Priests of the Diocese and the Priests of the Parish and for sick and retired priests of the Diocese.
The second basket collection is for Share which funds building projects in Developing Parishes of the Diocese and for pastoral projects in the Diocese.
The Family Offering or Envelope collection is the only collection that remains in the Parish to help finance the weekly running costs of our three churches in the parish. Each week the Envelope takes in approximately €600. Last year we just about broke even between income and expenditure and this has the potential to become a real crisis for our parish.
We are very aware of the financial constraints on families at present; however, the truth is our Church can only continue to function with your help. We thank most sincerely those already contributing to the Family Offering and invite those who would like to contribute to register in the Parish Office or take one of the envelopes each week which are available at the church doors. If a donation is made through these envelopes no acknowledgement will be issued as the envelopes are un-numbered. If you would like an acknowledgement at the end of the year, please include your contact details on the envelope. Your support will be very much appreciated.
