Stations of the Cross led by Children – call for readers and  artists  as in prior years we are due to have the Stations of the Cross led by Children on Good Friday, 29th March at 12noon in St Patrick’s Church. If there are any children who would like to volunteer to read a short passage or to draw or design one of the Stations, we ask parents/guardians to contact the parish    children’s ministry email            donabateparishcm@gmail.com , by Monday next 25th  March.

Maranatha – the third of our 3 special Confirmation preparation Maranatha events takes place on Friday next, 5th April, from 7:30pm to 8:30pm in St. Patrick’s Church and will also be broadcast on our parish webcam ( https://churchmedia.tv/camera/st-patricks-church-donabate ). We will be particularly welcoming our Confirmation candidates and their parents to this Maranatha where the theme will be the Creed.   As always, we remember in a special way all our young people at Maranatha as well as bringing our own   intentions. If there is anyone you would like remembered at Maranatha this month, please email the names to myam.admin@gmail.com by next Thursday if possible.

5 FIRST SATURDAY DEVOTION will continue in our church on Saturday April 6th starting @ 9.30am with The Rosary. 

This devotion was requested by Our Lady of Fatima. Our Lady promised that observance of the 5 First Saturdays would hasten Peace in the World. It consists of the following:

  1. Praying the Rosary
  2. Receiving Holy Communion
  3. Confession
  4. 15 minutes Meditation on The Rosary.

Please join us as we pray for Peace in our world.

April Family Mass  – Sat 6th April – Our next Family Mass will take place at the 6.30pm Mass on Saturday, 6th April, in  Donabate. We would be delighted if families can participate on the 6th – please spread the word!  Any families wishing to join the family mass team can register their   interest by emailing donabateparishcm@gmail.com

 

DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY  Will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church, Donabate on Sunday April 7th., starting at 2.30pm.  The celebration will include  Rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet, Blessing and Veneration of Divine Mercy Image, Confessions and Holy Mass.

 

Dublin Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock 2024 – The Annual Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock, led by Archbishop Dermot Farrell, will take place on Saturday 27 April from 11am to 4:30pm including Mass, Anointing of the Sick, workshops and the Sacrament of Reconciliation.  This year is the celebration of 145 years since the Apparition at Knock. The “Choir of Many Voices” will provide the music again this year and new people from across the Archdiocese are welcome to join. For more information about the pilgrimage or the choir contact knockpilgrimage@dublindiocese.ie                                               Brackenstown Parish are organising a bus at a cost of €25 per person travelling with pick up in Donabate at 7.30am.  If you would like to travel please contact the parish office.

Donabate Meals on Wheels – NEW DRIVERS REQUIRED                                        If you would have an hour or two to spare once a fortnight to help deliver meals in the Donabate area please contact Deborah 086 8276555.

 

Bayside Alpha are showing Bishop Barron’s groundbreaking 10-part documentary series, ‘Catholicism’, on Zoom with discussion afterwards in breakout rooms starting on Sunday the 7th of April at 7:30pm and continuing for 10 weeks. To register please email Paul at alphabayside@gmail.com

 

Call for more Eucharistic Adorers – Fridays   We are blessed in this parish to have Eucharistic Adoration in Donabate Church each Friday, currently from 12noon to 4:30pm. This is such a special opportunity to come and spend some quiet time with the Lord. As our team of regular adorers is small, we would love if more people could commit to spending some time each Friday with the Lord. If you can commit to 30     minutes or more each Friday between 12noon and 4:30pm please contact the   parish office.

 

First Holy Communion Rosary Beads and  St. Theresa Prayer Cards and medals are available to purchase at the parish office.

 

Tap & Donate – Thank you to all who use the Tap & Go machine.  The amount collected during the month of January was €206.00                                                                                  The Dublin Diocese very much appreciate your support.

 

Donabate youth group – We are currently welcoming new members to join our parish youth group – an opportunity to connect with other young people to share views and discuss life questions, to learn more about faith, to listen to inspirational music, to have opportunities for reflection.
