A Confirmation Enrolment Ceremony will be held this Saturday 21 October at 6.30 in St. Ita’s Church for children preparing for Confirmation next year.  Practice will be held in St. Ita’s Church on Friday 20 October at 6.30 pm.


World Mission Sunday (“Reach out and Spread the Joy”) Annual collection will be held at all Masses this weekend 21/22 and it will replace the Share collection.      Thank you for your support.

“Maranatha – Donabate youth group invites you to join us for our next ‘Maranatha’, an hour of song, reflection, candles and prayers for our young people, all in the presence of the Blessed              Sacrament. Friday 3rd November from 7:30pm-8:30pm in St. Patrick’s Church. All welcome.”

The November Altar List of the Dead may be handed in during the coming week.  All those on the Altar List of the Dead will be prayed for   during the month of November and on the First Friday of each month during the year.           Envelopes are available at the church doors.                                                                               We invite you to bring a photograph of the   people you would like to remember during      November and for whom you would like the community to pray for.  The photographs will be displayed on a board in front of the Altar.  We will pray for those we love, for whom, “Life has been changed, not taken away.”

Balbriggan Parish is delighted to announce Tommy Fleming in Concert on Wednesday, November 15th at 8pm in the Church of SS Peter and Paul, Balbriggan. This promises to be a most  entertaining and enjoyable evening.  A Tommy Fleming concert is a musical experience not to be missed with one song more haunting than the other. He has a universal appeal to all ages and backgrounds with a fan base that is growing stronger worldwide year by year.  Tickets are €20 and are available from or Balbriggan Parish Office (Tel 018412116)


St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin –   Music for Remembrance Concert on   Friday 10 November at 18.15.           The Cathedral Choir will be singing Gabriel Fauré’s much loved Requiem.   Admission Free.  A retiring collection in aid of the Irish Red Cross.  Pre-book your seats at


St. Patrick’s National Schools warmly invite you to attend an Open Evening to be held at the National Schools, Portrane Road on Thursday 26 October at 7-9 pm.


Donabate Portrane Senior Citizens Day Centre & Social Club Christmas Party will be held in Donabate Golf Club on Sunday 10 December. Cost €15.      Tickets available at the Day Centre on a Friday morning.


Just a reminder that  Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament   continues every Friday from 6.30 to 7.30. It is an hour of silent prayer. We see it as an invitation and opportunity to pray for peace in our families, our country and the world. You are welcome to come for the whole hour or for a shorter period.

Living with Loss:  The Irish Hospice Foundation will present a free information evening for the public about        bereavement on Thursday 2nd November 5.30pm – 8.00pm in the Alexander Hotel, 41-47 Fenian Street (off     Merrion Square). Guest speaker is Laura Kennedy, Irish Times Journalist and author of Personal Reflection  column Leave Taking        Beginning at 5.30pm with a formal introduction followed by a chance to chat to   volunteers at bereavement support services about their work.   For more info: Tel: 01 6793188 / and

Adoration of the Blessed Eucharist is held weekly in all three churches in the parish as follows:   St. Ita’s, Portrane – Wednesday 1-2 pm

Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Balheary- Friday 5-6 pm

St. Patrick’s Donabate – Friday 6.30-7.30 pm.      


Donabate Ceili Dancing classes start back Monday Sept 11th in Donabate Community Centre from 8.30pm to 10pm.
Cost €5 per class.  Come for the dancing and stay for the craic.  No dancing experience needed.

The Donabate / Portrane Senior Citizens Social Club and Day Centre is open to all people of the parish over the age of 50.  We open every Wednesday and Friday from 10 AM – 1 PM in the Parish Hall.  We regularly hold events and have at least one outing a month.  All are welcome.  If you need transport to the Day Centre, please phone Mary on :  087 230 0496.
